MH710 handsfree incompatible Acro S

I'm curious (and a little frustrated), why can't I use my MH710 handsfree with my new Acro S? As far as I can see, the both use an identical plugg.

Well, it has to do with CTIA/OMTP standards. MH710 is OMTP and Acro S uses CTIA. You can read Johans article about it here: http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/154264#154264
