Loud speaker remains disabled after unplugging headphones

Hi,

I am experiencing the following issue on my Xperia V, both with 9.1.A.1.140 and 9.1.A.0.490.

When plugging in my headphones, the loud speaker is automatically disabled - which is good. But then when I unplug the headphones, it is not always enabled again. So sometimes I end up without any sounds. This is very critical, because in this case I won't hear neither calls nor alarm clock - nothing.

Also the Function Validation app confirms that the loud speaker doesn't work.

Two ways to bring the speaker back to life: (1) reboot the phone; (2) plug and unplug the headphones again.

I am using SmartConnect with "Music on the go" profile - that is, when I plug my headphones in, it automatically starts Walkman and starts playing. When I unplug the headphones, it stops Walkman. These actions always happen - even when the speaker is not enabled. So the phone "notices" that I unplug the headphones. Therefore it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue (like if the headphone input is broken, so the device doesn't detect when headphone disconnects). It seems to be a software issue.

I also tried to disable the SmartConnect profile - still the issue remains.

I noticed that the issue happens when I unplug my headphones close to the end of the track (within last 10 seconds). But I am not sure that this observation is 100% correct - need to test more.

Did anybody experience this behavior?

Haven't seen or experienced this before actually. Have you tried repairing software to see if it's just something in your phone? If not, you should try it.

I have absolutely the same problem. I am no using smart connect though. Plug and unplug the headphones doesn't work every time for me. Rebooting fixes the issue. I thought that newest update would fix it, but it happened again today.

... so it seems to be a bug that happens not only for me.

Now the question is: can we collect any debugging info for Sony to investigate this?
