Hello, This is my old, now and future problem. I am from Turkey and of course I use xperia s in Turkish.
In mail app and most of mail app in android market except kaiten posta, Some mails are come start with iso-8859-9 and
dont show sender name and also dont show turkish letter so you cant read mail. But when I change Phone language in English
then every new mail there is no iso issue. iso means I think language code somethink like that.
Gmail is everytime good and no problem. Most users use POP3 account same problem in Turkey. Samsung, LG are same too.
Is it any solution? Sorry for my English if I mistake.

Today I receive good news from Sony Customer Support. They said, Sony International Software Development found the problem and they decided to add Turkish ISO 8859-9 in sofware as standart.
There will be no error anymore they said. Here is their answer translate by google translate.

The phone supports ISO 8859-9 and it should not matter what language you have set it to.
I will have to recommend you to contact the regional Sony support team though since I'm terrible at Turkish and therefore will run into trouble if I'm going to test this myself.

I send screenshot below. This issue only when my phone language in Turkish. If l change phone
language English there is no iso issue anymore.
I know your link and I write alot Turkish customer support. They dont know anything about this.
Because they dont use xperia. When you ask something answer is same. WE DONT KNOW.
I have x10, arc and now xperia S. Every phone has same issue when you change phone language
Turkish. Therefore I want to write here. I want to learn Does developer know this problem?
I search internet and I learn 8859-9 and 8859-3 are Turkish language code.

I called customer support before, Today I call them again. They said use active sync account. But my account cant reorganize with activesync. Now Today I am writing a mail and when I receive answer I will send you Markus. Thank you for your help.

I can see you got a reply on May 7th but that the ticket is still in status "In Progress". I'm terrible at Turkish but my guess is that they are still working on this matter since it's not closed.
