Internal Memory/SD trouble

Internal Memory/SD trouble

I connected my phone via USB the other day for the first time, simply to charge it as my charger was upstairs at the time. When it was charged, I noticed that my songs were missing, as were all the files in my gallery. I have an SD card in the phone, and files from my previous phone were saved on there. All photos taken with my Xperia were saved on the internal memory for some reason, and they're gone too.

I can only see my old phone files on the SD if I use an SD card adapter, I can't see them on my phone gallery, or using the USB linked to my phone. When plugged in via USB, the laptop tells me my SD card is full but  when I click on it, it is empty.

The only way I can view the new photos taken with experia is through the file commander app. Why is this? If the app has them, then there must be a way of recovering them.

I've cleared my gallery app data, and tried taking a new photo on my phone. It stays until I restart my phone, and then everything is deleted again. I really need some help. I want to be able to view my old and new photos without them being deleted, also after that is fixed, can anyone tell me how to make my experia save my future photos onto the SD card instead of internal memory?

Thanks in advance.

Aha! After re-installing the update and actually connecting back up to the google-play store,  I have found out that all of my data has come back. All music, internal images and those on the SD card.

Thanks to all those that helped anyway. Slightly_smiling_Face

That's quite odd, download quickpic and try to open the pictures

I've just downloaded quickpic  as you suggested and everything shows up on it. Internal and SD stuff, so thank you very much for that. However does anyone know why this happened and how I can acutally get my phone to work as it originally was?

Also, I share photos to Facebook friends often, and I've tested this out, but when I go to share a picture, Facebook tells me there are no images to share.

Settings > Xperia connectivity > USB connectivity > USB connection mode > select MTP

I did that before, but after reading through some of the previous threads on the forum, I think I know what did it. I may have not been aware that my phone was doing a software update at the time, and I had unplugged it during the update. I am re-installing the newest software update now to see if that fixes things.

Okay, I completed the system update and still nothing. The images are still saved and I can see them in the file commaner but not in my phones albums.

Now I must re-download all my apps after the update.

Have you tried low level formatting the sd card? Also,I have seen incompatibility issues between some cards and sony devices.

How do I go about doing that?

Why would it be incompatible if it had worked perfectly fine before?

Just download a low level format tool from the web. Here you go.Then I have no idea what could be causing your problems...
