I think this is a general problem for all models which use Android OS.
Synchronization is a good way of getting all your contacs easily to your phone but there is cons too...
For all synced contacts there is several methods to hide duplications; i.e. you may hide the ones who has no phone numbers or you may attach one contat to the other... This is good because you do not see duplicated contacts or e-mail addresses in your phone book BUT if you want to send an sms and pick the number from phone book there are tons of duplicated / unnecessary e-mail addresses all over there . You have to slide tons of pages or make a search. This happened when I synced with outlook, shocked when I see there are 2947 contacts in my phone book... I hide them, but whenever I go to phone book after writing a sms I see all of them right there waiting...
1. For facebook sync; it is not possible delete any entry nor edit it. There is only one way you have to attach them manually.
2. Outlook sync; the worst case, even deleting them one by one, from this menu or that menu does not solve the problem, after deleting (you may watch delete process by a running bar) if you check they are still there. Of course it is not permitted to edit those items thanks to Microsoft for carrying out such a nasty habit to Android.
3. Google sync; whenever synced wih Google there are some duplications created. Even choosing "don't create duplications" and/or "don't sync the same items" does not mean anything to algorithmes. I think if you have some attached contacts in the phone book google sync accepts it as a different contact and creates a duplicate...
Well, you have to delete them one by one manually...
Is there any solutions getting rid of those hidden unnecessary contacts? Because whenever I open the phone book, it takes like couple second to react for the processing (scanning and recognization) of those contacts by OS.
Solved! Go to Solution.
For Facebook contacts you only have read rights. You cannot edit these.
My best suggestion is to sync all contacts (that can be synced) to your Google account. When this is done, sit down at your computer, go to www.gmail.com and log in, click on Gmail > Contacts > More > Find & merge duplicates.
After this, if there are still changes you want made you need to do it manually.
My best suggestion is to not sync contacts with more than one database if you're annoyed by the duplicates.

That is absolutely right, thank you..
Yes, there is a very convenient option, useful and 100% working.
Finally I figured out a PC based free program which let you edit, delete or whatever you want to do with your contacts. Even it deletes google, facebook and outlook based unnecessary and undeletable records in Android OS.
That's how I got rid of more than 2500 unnecessary contacts in my phone book.
The program is Wondershare MobileGo for Android.
You may download it from http://www.wondershare.com/android-manager/ and it is free, useful...
After downloading you need to go Settings > Developer Options and check USB debugging... It is also explained and asked when you activate the program. You need to use your pc and either USB connection or wireless connection to make it work.
There is only one thing from my experience,
do not check records throughout the pages (by scrolling down the list) because it works something like android screen, do whatever you want to do page by page. I mean do the first page, finish editing then go to the second page (scroll down). You do whatever you see on the page....
GoodLuck!
