I have forgotten my pin to unlock my phone.

I have forgotten my pin on my homescreen to get into my phone, and unlike a pattern password it doesn't give me a sercurity question to answer, so I just keep on entering randome passwords that don't work. It just says you have to wait 30 seconds to be able to type another one in. Is there anyway to get into my phone or do I have to reset my whole phone? please help, thanks!

1) try really hard to remember the password

or

2) reset your phone
