Greetings to Sony for the ICS roll out. Yet I havent upgraded my phone as I am waiting for more reviews to come on all aspects.
One doubt.. In case I am not satisfied with the performance of my phone after upgrading to ICS, how can I downgrade it back to Gingerbread? Just trying to play safe.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Oh yes really it is.
The downgrading option is for 2011 Xperias and not for 2012 mobiles
You need to search the forum for feedbacks by the users and decide accordingly .
If i were you, i wouldn't have waited a second to update my mobile
ICS is YUMMY, no matter if buggy, though it seems to be quite good for Xperia P
It's your wish to wait. People would report bugs, see if you can cope up with those bugs , then decide to update or not
No more waiting @nabeel.. I have gone through some honest reviews in other threads and I am satisfied... now whtever happens I am ready to face..already on it
just waiting for my phone to get atleast half charged and then wrooommmmm!!!!!!!!!
You can downgrade by flashing a ftf file of the GB firmware you want. Obviously not official but it works great and is easy. Stop by xda-developers.com and look in the Xperia P forums for info.
thanks brother.. I already know about this method but sorry I dont want to try anything unofficial
thats why I posted this topic to see if there is an official way for it
you could take it to a sony repair center and they will downgrade your phone or use flashtool or wotanserver
oopzz... so you want to contradict with what @nabeel has mentioned on the 7th reply?.. what is the truth? I am getting confused now..
Finally I did it... got downloaded in less than 30 min... installation took less than 5 min... android got upgraded in another 5 min for everything and at last came the sony xperia logo and I am ready to go Thanks everyone for your suggestions and advises
what was the total update size?
325 MB
Here is my review
Date of update : 18th August late night
Pros: Improved battery life.. its true.. I have been using wifi for the whole night yesterday till 4 am and fel asleep, still more than half battery was lef when I woke up.. which is lot better than GB..
No death grip or network grip issues so far.. call clarity is awesome and consistent on earphone, main speaker and call speaker.
Love the new facelock function and pattern lock option if first one fails..
The new notification area looks pretty with settings option incorporated.
Improved response and performance.
The new data usage tracker option is helpful.
ICS has something called developer options.. havent touched that section yet :smileysilly:since I am not a developer lol
Seettins menu seems more sophisticated, arranged and advanced
Cons: When I put media volume to maximum I can hear cracking here and there..
If any body annoyed with the mix up of pics and videos in album, here is the trick.. you can see a downward arrow on the righ corner of the album.. click on it and you will get it sorted by just pics and videos.
Picture zooming option sucks big time!! This was great in GB as compared to ICS
sad.. even after reducing animation and animation speed to minimum.
Taking screenshots was too easy in GB as compared to ICS.. whenever I tried to press volume down and power buttons together, only one of their functions pops up .. means either it will reduce ring volume or it will power off .. lolzz
Overall : Worth updating.. you can just close your eyes and go for it.. :smileyhappy:if not concerned some above mentioned minor cons.
