GPS PROBLEM WITH MY PHONE XPERIA ARC

hi every one
i have problem with my gps and google maps
it never detect my location by satellite it always need wifi connection?
is it problem with mu phone only or common problem?
software or hardware problem ?

first of all, u need a clear view of sky to receive signals from satellite

then check following things

settings> location and security> mark "use wireless and networks" and then mark " use gps satellite..

make sure u have data plans other wise u will be charged for transmission of data through network carrier....

next... if u data plans then remember to switch on data traffic 9 settings> wireless and network> mobile network > mark "data enabled"
