Earphones not compatible

Hello,

I have a Sony Xperia Pro running Android 2.3.4.

When I plug another earphone that`s not the one within the phone box, the phone doesnt recognize it.

I`d tried the earphones in my computer and it works.

Do u know if the phone doesnt recognize anothers phones but the original?

the 2010 and 2011 use OMTP and the 2012 Xperias and most phones/smartphones/mp3players etc use CTIA

it's simple headphones that will work with an ipod/iphone won't work with the 2010 and 2011 Xperias.

Eras of earphones have passed as a result the Xperia you have are the ones which auto detect the ear phones provided and as a result the ear phones provided with the Cell have an integrated chipset which allows the phone to connect where as the newer cell phones are more user friendly and they are any earphone platform based as a common 3.5Jack allowing anything to connect

I love sound that's why I have about 10 pieces of different headsets like AKG, Altec's, Sound Magic etc. And I was lucky that I've got

Philips  SHE3575BW_10

they've got adapter and they will definitely work on SK17i (none of my other headset worked)
