Dropped in water, touch not working

Hi,

Thursday my XPERIA S was accidentally dropped in washbasin.

Display is working fine, everything works fine but, touch is not working. Keys power on, display, volume up/down and camera keys are working. Warrenty is void as it was liquid damage.

Gave cell to Sony Authorized service center, they cleaned phone and said connector part from display is corroded and total screen needs to be replaced.

Can that corrosion be cleaned up? They cleaned it, earlier it down left was bit darker now that issue is not there but still touch is not working.

Can anyone suggest what to do next? Really miss the phone!

Thanks,

iMindG

it doesn't come together, sometimes they are glued together but you can buy the digitizer by itself.

since the warranty won't cover this, you have few options pay Sony repair center to replace the part or you can buy the part yourself and replace it or get a new phone

What I think happened is either you didn't waited long enough for it to completely dry, or did you used a hair dryer ? the best thing to do is to remove the sim card (battery when the phone has a removable battery ) and leave it inside a container with uncooked rice for 24-48hrs and do not attempt to turn it on.

Thanks Again,

In my case display is woking absolutely fine. Only problem is with touch is not being registered.

Service Center person was telling for Sony Xperia S digitizer and lcd comes together.

Can you please confirm the same for XPERIA S

Note: Only lower part of phone was in water. Mother board and other stuff are in good condition (confirmed by service center person)

Thanks!

check the links above the first 2 are LCD + Digitizer and the other 2 are just the digitizer.
