Can't pair Xperia Arc S with a bluetooth handsfree

Hi everyone.I just bought an Xperia Arc S running Android 2.3.4.Tried several times to pair with my stereo bluetooth handsfree Nokia BH-214 with no success.Bluetooth is turned on,phone is "discoverable" but the phone doesn't see the headset. It used to work with my Nokia E51.Actually on the product specifications page of the headset there is a list of compatible phones, but all of them are Nokia.

On this online store's page http://www.harrowelectronics.co.uk/product.php?id_product=30 the say it is compatible with a wide range of phones, including Arc S? How is that possible?

I really want to use it with my new phone. Is there some way that my phone can find it?

Most likely you need to put the headset in pairing mode before it can be discovered and paired with the Arc S. At least our headsets works this way and I'm pretty sure it's the same for the Nokia ones :smileyhappy:. Check the user guide for the headset to get instructions on how to put in pairing mode.

Samuel, thank you so much for your answer.I am not a noob with tech and PC's but didn't thought that reading the manual will help because the headset had just a button to turn on/off,volume up/down,receiving calls and skipping tracks. When I got it I just turned this thing on and my Nokia E51 found it easily. But when same thing didn't worked with the Xperia I thought it was incompatible. Also on their page the compatible phones are Nokia's only.

I must say I was too sceptic about your answer because I tried several times to turn it on/off and the phone didn't find it.

So I took a quick look at the manual and found out that with pressing combinations of buttons you can do more than turn this sh*t on/off

The best one which actually helped me was "restarting,or deleting the settings" ,something like a "reset" button. You just have to long press the "power" and "send" button at the same time for about 5 sec.

The led started blinking quickly blue and voila, the Xperia found it Slightly_smiling_Face Slightly_smiling_Face Slightly_smiling_Face
