This varies a bit depending on which market it is that you are located in.
For example, in the Nordics market where I am located, you can check how long warranty you have left by having a look at the proof of purchase (receipt). The warranty here is valid for X amount of years from the point of purchase, so that's a good way to check. In addition, you can register your device on our website to see if an estimated warranty period is available: https://mysupport.sonymobile.com/
Which market are you located in? It would be a good start to have a look in the warranty terms for your local market to see what is stated regarding the warranty period, you may find that here:

I also recommend that you get in touch with your Local support in order to be assisted on a personal level, as they are well informed regarding your local warranty terms and service routines!
