Sony Xperia M5 rear camera not focusing

Hi, I've had my xperia m5 for a week now. When using my rear 21 mp camera at short range my photo's looks great but at long range, about 1 metre away and further is is completly blurred. No matter what focus setting I use in normal mode or in auto superior it doesn't change at all. I have the latest android 5.1 firmware installed and there are now smudges or scratches on the lens. Is there a setting I missed or is the device faulty?

I got the phone replaced and the new one works perfectly. Photos look great.

Hallo jonsels..i have the same problem with u. My back camera doesnt work good.its always blurr.. Im curious what happens with ur camera now??what sony said??

Hi Fitria, they didn't give any explaination, I thinks the device was just faulty they replaced my phone with a new one as it was under warranty. New one takes beautiful crisp fotos.

Hello, yesterday I bought this phone and I'm very disappointed with the rear camera focusing.

I found out that this focusing problem might be caused by the pre-installed camera app. with 3rd party camera app, I was at least able to focus on the object with tap of finger, even the image quality was worse than with the old Samsung Galaxy S5 mini, at least it focused. with the builtin camera app in "Auto" mode I wasn't able to focus on the object at all!!! Jesus, don't tell me this is feature and not the bug. Is there some known issue with your phone cameras? it's ridiculous I buy the phone and afterwards I find many issues with Xperia focusing on the internet. Just don't tell me that if you want to focus you have to switch to manual mode as you proposed in your comment.

I've got the Same Problem, since I bouthgt it, I've waited till I did the update but the Problem dont resolbt it. I dont have bekommen any answer from Sony yet

Good evening, I wanted to ask a problem I found in the camera and in the pictures.
I bought the xperia M5 this winter, just since I realized immediately that the photos and videos are blurred, even if I try to focus. Also many times it happens that the photos I have taken are black / gray and therefore not visible. All this is a shame because I like to make photos and I am very affectionate to this phone; So I would like to solve this problem.

It seems to be the default camera app  as someone suggested here before.
I downloaded another camera app and it focus correctly.

It is disappointing to pay for a mobile with 4K video recording and to have this lousy behaviour.

One day my M5 became very Hot in the rear,both the battery and the processor. I open the sim slot to make it cool and left it for a few hours to dry.Then check if it works and it's ok

Except the focus that in the video mode does not even tap on the screen

 the focus in the video mode does not even tap on the screen. The Phone was buy 14/6/2016. The warranty is valid for this damage?
