Sony Xperia smartphone is the best choice
Hi All,
I've been a happy Xperia M4 user for past 18 months. Suddenly I found my phone switched off.
On restarting I got the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH.
I went to local customer care and within 2 mins they deduced that the screen of the phone is broken and needs replacement.
Disappointed, I came back and tried to check if there was any problem with the software.
Since then I've tried to repair the phone twice with help of Xperia Companion.
The phone does switches on(Yup, sometimes), however, after around 10 mins of activity it again gives a blue screen and shuts down.
I tried to check the RAM uses and got a shock!
The phone is showing only 883 MB RAM instead of the 2 GB it should be having.
If anyone has faced the issue and resolved, kindly assist.
I have the exact same problem.
I was able to get my phone working after the blue screen several times now by constantly trying to power it up. I'm not certain what fixed it before as I'm not able to get it running now.
Apart from blue screen on booting up, my RAM has also been reduced to 800 and something MB, performance is greatly lowered to extent where I'm no longer able to open camera without it crashing (not to mention apps like Snapchat).
I've noticed random functions like NFC, WiFi, Internet in general, flash stop working from time to time, but get fixed somehow (magic I guess) when I restart the phone.
Phone is slow even when RAM isn't fully used. CPU seems fine, it is also never fully used bc nothing really can completely use it without crashing. I recieved "Process system is not responding." message a few times, asking me if I want to close the OS process...
There is basically little to nothing actually left working properly on my phone, I literally just use it as a wireless MP3 player now...
My Xperia m4 aqua shows just 883 Mb of RAM rayher then 2 Gb. They suggested me to change motherboard which cost me APPROX 7500 Indian Rupees. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH SONY. NEVER BUY THIS BRAND IN FUTURE AND WILL NEVER SUGGEST ANYONE TO BUY THIS BRAND. THANK YOU SO MUCH SONY FOR YOIR " costly " and " unbelievable "
SOLUTIONS 😢😢

i did the software repair and its still going on
Good day Thierry
I've read through your reply and all this time i thought I'm the only one having this prob with my M4. My problems started only after 6months of use when the phone shut down and couldn't swith on, already sent it in for repairs but it came back with the exact same probz you experienced, did a few factory resets but the problem continues. Have you found a solution??
I'm out of ideas and repairs
Thanks in advance, your response will be appreciated
Greetings everyone,
I've also experienced the same issue on my M4 aqua but after doing this method, I for now am able to use my M4 without any blue screen detection as yet. Be advised that I am still monitoring the device so it's not a 100% guarantee that the issue is gone. For what I did was,
1) Try to get into safe mode.
2) Perform the factory reset there and let the phone do the rest.
3) Once the phone has loaded, follow the on screen (this took me a while as sometimes it says setting is not working and a notification will ask you to wait or close settings, don't press anything till you see that the phone has started to respond, then press wait)
4) After doing that, you will need to be patient and let the phone finalize its set up.
5) The moment the phone boots into the home page, go to settings -> storage -> apps and uninstall or disable any unwanted applications to free up space and there will be software updates in the play store and sony updates.
6) After all of those are done, you should be using your M4 as normal
So far this is what I have but in a way we can still use the device. I will keep updating should any blue screen come on again. But so far after doing this, there is no blue screen as yet. Do keep me updated if it was a success
Best Regard,
Greg

Hey everybody, my one friend currently has a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua and whenever she powers on the phone, it will say "Sony" and then "powered by android" but then a blue screen appears. I have a picture but I just found out that I don't know how to post a picture in Xperia Support. If it's possible, please tell me. Thanks!!!
I'm not working before when the phone turns blue if the screen turns blue
