I too have had many complaints about me sounding quiet. Changing the settings doesnt help. Sony, please fix the mic settings or my next phine will be some other brand.

Mine is the same and all the support could come up with was to reinstall the firmware, which I did. No change. My wife's phone has exactly the same issue as well, so mine is not a rogue phone.

Not very happy about this and intend to move on to something else.

Received sound is also poor.

Not good that a phone can't make reasonable calls is it?

My Phone is back from repair - they have told me they have fixed something with the Microphone and...guess what - NO LUCK AGAIN (people still compaining about not hearing me). This is really frustrating - now I have several options:

- wait, pray and hope that someone in Sony will provide a firmware update with mic volumes fixed

- give up and install a custom ROM (and loosing the warranty)

- keep returning the phone back to warranty repair again and again hoping they will do a miracle or give me my money back

- use this crap as a photography frame, light,... and buy a phone from someone who knows how to make a phone, which can be used to make calls

Anyone from Sony around here? We have a problem, we have a fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/general/fix-low-microphone-volume-kitkat-t2930748), the only thing You need to do is pack it into the next firmware update (or unlock the files mentioned for writing).

What are You waiting for? Not enough people are pissed off yet?

Not sure why Sony are taking so long to fix this - I have had nothing but trouble with this peice of crap and will go back to HTC, I had no problems with my old desire s. So far I have had speaker issues, microphone issues, loss of my kids videos and photos and now microphone issues again. This is shocking from the company which brought great phones like the old walkman ranges and are now selling **bleep**e not fit for purpose. My phone company took 5 months to return a message about the phone and are embarrased by the number of complaints they have had and I have yet to receive any form of acknowlegement from Sony. Shocking service and to be honest, not surprised by any company selling crap like this. I have already moved to another firm for my TV as my hatred for Sony has now moved to all items in my house.

Just reinstalled software again via the PC, mic still not working. Test video plays lots of background noise. Raised repair request, no mention of where to send it! Absolutely useless! What the he'll has happened to Sony? This is the last Sony product I will be buying. They'd better fix this though otherwise I'll be pushing buttons at Trading Standards for Sony releasing a product clearly not fit for purpose.

Hi MarkAskew,

I have been just looking for Your last post about creating Facebook page warning people against buing crap from Sony - but with no luck. Is it possible that disappeared somehow? Because if it did, that would mean, that some from Sony does listen (and insead of making a trivial fix in their firmware, they invest much more time into finding and removing negative posts from support forums).

But I just hope, I am wrong - because if not...
