Can not connect to one W10 pc, but works on another w10 pc

Sorry if this is covered, but i could not fine

I have a Xperia M5 and it has been previusly connected to both my laptop and desktop.
Both computers have W10. But the desktop is updated to W10 from W7 the laptop is from W8 to W10. But this was before i got the M5.

When i try to connect the M5 to desktop it is charging only, does not askes for sharing files or just charge. It just charges and do nothing more. O phone i try connections and it says connected to usb. But desktop can not detect it.

I did sevral times uninstal companion and try to delete drivers. But can not find coz phone is not listed as connected. I also tried diferent usb ports, i even cleaned for dust. and tried sevral diferent cabels.

Now the intresting part is that if i connect the same phone, with same cabel to my laptop. It connects propper, i get prompet for wha tconnection i want. I can use companion og the laptop, i can also browse trough files in windos. And i can check updates everything normal.

I also have no problems to get files to and from the phone, even use the laptop as "hub" to get files to and from my desktop..

But connect direktly to my desktop, i can not figure out why this not work  Anny sugestions?

Of what i can think of, only thing not tried is formating the desktop, but i really do not want that..

Hi, I have the same problem. M5 has previously connected without problems to my laptop with Windows 10 but suddenly my PC does not recognize M5. I have tried two other laptops which recognize my device properly. Also USB flash drives work properly in the same USB ports so they must be ok. Any suggestions of what has happened? I need to transfer content from the phone to my laptop so good advice is appreciated, thanks.

After a Windows update my M5 is now connecting.
But then Sony Companion updated.

And dosen't seem to connect to the phone..  Th Companion program.

But in Windows i can browse the phone and SD card... 

Sony Companion just have this circle going round and round to connect. 

But it did work with old companion, the few seconds before it updated itself...

But it can be i need reboot after the update, even if it dident ask for that.

I was to quick

It is now solved for me.

First, make sure you get latest W10 update. Use this update assitant

Then Update Sony Companion.

Reboot your computer after Sony Companion is updated. (May not be crucial but worked for me)

Now my phone detected it was computer and i could chose what to do..
