3rd repair in 7 weeks!!

I am basically posting to vent my anger at SONY. I unfortunately own an M4 Aqua.

It was fine for a couple of months until the first time it overheated and shut down. Yes I know it cannot overheat as it has a shutdown process that kicks in to prevent damage. I do not know of any other phone that does this. So, basically, it overheats!

Ever since the first shutdown it has constantly done this, pretty much every day since. I have rebuilt it numerous times via both Xperia Companion and SONY PC Companion. None had any effect. I never sent my phone in to the repair centre as looking at the responses on this forum, very few customers have had their issues resolved after a repair.

Eventually after much frustration and many, many wasted hours, I decide to send it in for repair.

That was this January for the overheating problem. I had issues logging the repair on the website only to be told that they were having issues with the website. The phone was away for 10 days.

When I got it back, everything was fine for 3 days, then the shutdowns returned. Only this time it was not 1-2 times per day, it steadily increased to every few minutes and I mean eventually I could not even get past the initial setup after a restore without it shutting down!

So 2 weeks ago I sent it back for repair, again with problems logging the repair online. Again, when I got it back last week, it was fine for 5 days, today it will no longer charge. Again I could not log my repair and still haven’t due to website issues!

This will be my 3rd repair in 7 weeks. All of the internal parts have been replaced – twice. I have completely lost all confidence in SONY and have absolutely no faith that my next repair will be any more effective.

Do any of the SONY hierarchy read this forum? Surely they can see from the amount of disgruntled customers that this phone is not fit for purpose!! I see the phone is still on sale, WHY??

Sony don't seem to care, or perhaps they know the m4 aqua is so defective it'll cost them thousands to put them all right.

Safe to say you are not alone.  I have experienced the Sony aftercare and it is frankly shocking.
