I have Sony Xperia L phone.
My issue is that the Xperia keyboard has stopped working suddenly.
Hence unable to type anything
When checked in settings-Language & Input-Keyboard & Input Methods
The Xperia keyboard option is checked but is greyed out(unable to select it)
Please advice.
Try this: Main Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Xperia Keyboard > Clear Data.
When you are in this section also check that it is disabled if not please choose the "Enable" option.

Still getting same message:Unfortunately Xperia keyboard has stopped working.
Have even restarted the phone.

Then you may need to run a repair sorry:
To repair the phone software
1. Install PC Companion on a Windows PC from Support
2. In PC Companion, under Support Zone and click Start.
3. Under Phone Software Update, click Start.
4. Click repair phone.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Hi,
Do I have to take backup before the repair?
One more thing yesterday got a message on phone that new update is available
After the update the keyboard issue started.
Hi,
Finally after repair my keyboard has started working.
Thanks
any changes to root acces/system after repair in PC COmpanion ? i use Xperia M Dual
When restarting, will I lose all my images and stuff - do I need to complete a backup?
Yes @Saadia, if you are going to perform phone repair using PC companion you'll lose all your data and apps on internal memory, so it would be wise to backup everything (contacts, messages, data on internal memory).
