I'm not quite sure that I understand exactly what you mean.
Is there a phone icon to the right in the status bar and it's together with a Wi-Fi icon? This indicates that you have activated Wi-Fi calling in your device.
If the icon is to the left in the status bar, it's because you have an active phone call and the icon will be removed when you, or the counterpart ends the call.
I hope that helps and if I misunderstood you, please do elaborate a bit and a screenshot would be nice!
