Sony Bravia TV KD-32W800 - This TV is a pain in the ****

This TV is a pain because the Android (Antenna) Freeview Programme menu disappeared a few days ago and I now have no programme menu.

I've spent (wasted) most of Sunday messing about with suggestions to resolve the issue, and when I come to this Sony website all I can speak to is a robot.  Well the TV is going to the tip before I do that - how long might this take?

Anyway, Ive tried clearing the Cache from the Live TV app; clearing cached data; turned the TV off and unplugged it for a while - several times - performed at least two channel re-scans, checked the signal reception (signal level 75 to 77% and Signal Quality between 77% and 100%).  Checked software - it says this is up to date.  Re-started my router (just in case, though it is the Android Freeview that is problematic).

For a short period I thought I had succeeded because the Freeview programme menu re-appeared.  So I resumed watching a programme, only to find that when it had finished and I looked again - "no Information Available" appeared once again.  This has happened twice.   I have not done a factory re-set because I thought that if I could get the Programme menu back twice, the factory re-set would just waste more time and be unnecessary.

Now I do not know what to do other than perhaps contact the shop - yes SHOP - where I bought it from just less than 2 years ago, where there are actual people who may be able to help.

Any help would be appreciated, especially from Sony who may know what the problem is.  I know I am not the first person to experience it; just can't sort it.

So what IS wrong with this TV?

Hello Lightfoot,

Thank you for replyiing to my issue regarding Freeview on my Bravia TV.

Following your suggestion I did try Sony Support online, but to no avail.

I was advised yesterday that you had advice from another Community member of an error code FVP-03-023, and I had also found that error code within the App. on my TV.  The error code had with it a message "unable to connect properly".  So at this point I had the blame set on the App and contacted a guy called Jason at Freeview.  Not solved because he only suggested a do (yet another) channel re-tune, which worked for just half an hour, then my menu disappeared again.

Today is another day.  Ive been back on the Freeview Site looking at the available Freeview Play App (which I already have pre-installed on my TV), and I was able to click on TV Guide > Set Your Region (by exact postcode).  When I did this, the Guide appeared back on my TV!  Result.  I (just don't know how it was suddenly not set to my region/postcode, but it seems fixed).

Not the Bravia TV then; I would recommend anybody who gets this error message to go to Freeview and re-set their postcode.
