Screen problems 46" bravia

My kdl 46 after only 18 months from new as got a lcd panel fault,when I first switch it on the screen on the right hand side goes black then red ,then I get vertical and horizontal lines this last for a few minutes ,spoke with a engineer and he said between 4/500 pounds to fix this ,after 18 months of use I would not expect any faults the tv as normal use the warrant is up I can not BELEAVE after this time the panel needs replacing it's crazy I would like some answer of a sony person as this tv is not of merchantable standard and surely there should be some good will shown here as I am not at fault the panel is and must be of low quality to go after this amount of time ,I would expect to get 4/5 years use not 18 months so can any one advise me what I can do about this ,can I complain is the sales of goods act worth looking into ect so can some sony person please respond thanks

Hi there

Even though your TV is out of warranty (I assume) - I believe that you still do have some come-back through the use of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 from the retailer you purchased the TV from.

Hi they did e mail me back a week ago and asked me for a copy of my receipt still no answer yet
