Darker picture when using DVD player via HDMI lead

I have a KDL40EX503 television and a RDR-HXD890 DVD recorder.

When I play a recorded programe the picture becomes darker.

I try to change the picture settings using the options buttons but all this does is operate the DVD menu and I can't gain access to the television settings.

Can anyone advise me what to do thank you.

Hi,

I think you can custom modify the picture settings for each input, so you need to get into the options of your TV to adjust it for the DVD input. I must admit my HX's picture settings are pretty much the same as normal TV viewing.

Just temporarily put a cloth over the front of the DVD and use the TV remote to access the TV's settings 🙂
