topic External audio in Other TVs

If I may offer an answer to my own question - for others facing the same prob - my old (but excellent) mains powered PC multi-speaker/subwoofer setup - the lot terminating in twin stereo plugs - was successfully connected to the headphones socket of my KDL-32CX523 TV via a twin-to-single stereo plug adapter. Volume control remained via the TV remote (or the amplifier's own control), and the sound was altogether better by a mile compared with the thin, edgy, and ear-aching sound from the TV's integral speakers. Saved many £s by avoiding the need for dedicated external TV speakers!

Well, you managed to do it, it is simple cable

We have to agree that all branded LCD TVs in the market have thin edgy sound because limited space in the panel which restrict putting bigger speakers

When you own a laptop you will have the same complaint too:smileywink:

I use a rather neat Logitech USB Laptop Speaker Z205 for that duty. Not concert hall quality but way better than a laptop can produce; and of course volume is the main demand!

Don
