Fan constantly running

hi folks using a vgn-s2hp the fan runs constantly when I open IE 6 and the home page is sony club....when I use a link and open up another IE page the fan dies down..any ideas what this is all about?

Because ClubVAIO uses Flash which can use CPU cycles like mad

Cheers and thanks,would that mean that any site that uses flash will give me the same result? Is this something specific to sony and sony lappy's?

I have logged onto the site from other machines without the fan over running, so just more curious..though I do not doubt your reply.

Hi

Seems that your fan turns on when the CPU averages > 5% - which Flash often goes over on some machines.

This doesn't usually happen on other machines which have constant fans, but yours is a variable fan, which switches on when triggered.

You can always go to macromedia.com and see if the same happens over there
