Hi Lanoye and welcome to Club Vaio.

Think very carefully before installing RAID 1 as you will be immediately halving the Hard Drive capacity of your Vaio from 240GB to 120GB by creating a 'mirrored' volume.

As your discs are configured in RAID 0 as a default, you will have to reformat both your hard drives and reinstall everything in a 'mirrored' configuration rather than the 'striped' default.

First make at least two sets of Recovery DVDs and test that they are OK. Back up everything as all data will be lost and your Vaio returned to factory condition (except it will be in RAID 1).

1. Connect Mains power and DO NOT interrupt the process.
2. Start up your Vaio with the first System DVD already inserted.
3. At the first screen click on the 'Change RAID' button.
4. You will get a screen explaining about RAID -> Next
5. You now get a summary of the present RAID configuration -> Next
6. Select the new configuration you want installed - RAID 0 / RAID 1 / RAID 5 / No RAID

You will get a summary of old and new configurations and be asked to confirm OK to proceed SEVERAL times

7. Click RESTART to set off a full hard disc system recovery to your new RAID configuration.

A word of warning - this is the process for XP. I have no reason to think it will be any different with Vista but this may be worth checking with Sony Vaio-Link Support.
