Issue with function key S1

Hello !

I have a problem with the function key S1.

When i press the button the options menu for the function keys open !!! i have entered the right folder... tried other programs, but dont work. key S2 is working fine...

I have a Sony Vaio VGN FE 28B. Vista installed.

Got this issue with XP too. I have installed all drivers, with the right sequence.

Could someone pls help me ???

Can you try setting S1 to "Launch Application" and for the application use the path C:\Windows\System32\Notepad.exe

Apply it and then press S1.

I know how to configure the keys, because the S2 key is working good !

For windows mail "Arbeitsordner" needs %userprofile% written in it. Then it should work fine.

hm dont work... : (

I just cant put this in, but the key S2 is working good !! Doesnt matter which programm i set, it will start when i press the button. S1 starts the Configuration...

Try reinstalling the utilities for your VAIO and see if that makes any difference.

Preinstalled Utilities (XP) for Vista install from upgrade DVD

Extract the Zip folder to C:\utils and install in this order:

1. Sony Utilities
2. Sony Shared Library
3. VAIO Event Service

It can only be a software fault as the button appears to work.

As you've upgraded to Vista use the links below to download the required utilities for your FE28B...

1 SonyUtils DLL
2 Sony Shared Library
3 Vaio Event Service
4 Setting Utility Series

Once downloaded install in the same order as above, then re-boot your vaio.

You may have to do this more than once..
