Hi Os and welcome to Club Vaio.

Which Utilities have you tried? You need the Original XP Utilities (and the XP Drivers if you have any missing!) supplied for the Vaio SZ3-Series. Download from here : -

http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/downloads/updates/updates.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&c=0&s=VGN-SZ&m=2377

It is essential that you install these Utilities in the correct order to get the Fn keys to work. Download the Utilities and right-click on the .ZIP and choose 'Extract All'. I would extract to C:\Utils.

Run the setup files in this order: -

1. Sony Utilities
2. Sony Shared Library
3. Vaio Event Service

Hi there,

Great thanks. I did exactly that after realising that the identical laptop we have in the studio is a SZ3 with XP Pro on it and the utlilies are different.

The last problem I have is with the camera. Don't seem to be able to use it in Skype it tells me that it might be being used by another application?

Weird, nice to back on XP Pro though, had loads of issues with webmail on Small Business server compositing emails. Bill had decided to eliminate the active x from Vista, thanks.

Any ideas welcome on the webcam thingy. Have installed the camera utility and drivers etc.

Os
