VAIO Update Problem

Hello,

I have just purchased an AR41M and have registered it sucessfully.

However, when I try to run VAIO Update, I get the error message "Your model information could not be found on the server. Please try again later. (MessageID=0008)

I have been trying all evening / night with no success.

HELP!

After upgrading my vaio to Vista Ultimate OEM version, I have the same problem like You on my AR21S. ("Your model information could not be found on the server. Please try again later. (MessageID=0008).

When I try to install for example WinDVD BD for Vaio, the instalation wizard give the allert "Your maschine is not the sony VAIO"

Wher is the problem ?

Hi Martin and welcome to Club Vaio.

I think there are no updates yet for your model. If you go manually to Vaio-Link Updates HERE you will see that there are no updates and nothing has yet been set up for your model. I would expect the automatic Vaio Update to work as soon as there are updates for you.

mystic.pl your problem is a bit different. When you change the installed OEM Operating System, Vaio Update will no longer work and you will have to search for updates manually. Vaio Update looks at your model type to see if there are updates for the original system - if you are not using that original system it can't tell what you need anymore. Ultimate is not supported by Sony on your Vaio and they have not tested anything at all with Ultimate. As you no longer have a Sony OEM operating system, your Vaio is not being recognised as a Vaio. Have you installed ALL the Sony Utilities from HERE?

Thanks a lot for the info and the welcome :smileygrin:. This makes sense I suppose.

If anyone at Sony is reading this, some more user friendly error mesages would be handy! This is only a step away from spitting out random hex!

THX a lot for help, yes I instaled all this drivers and utilities from Sony support web site.
But I was think, maybe Sony make and support the new version of bios for ar21s maschine?
