dvd rewriter pioneer dvd-rw dvr-k15

I wonder if anyone can help me I know there is a thread for this already and I am sorry for doing another one but I really need help whenever I put a blank dvd into the driver it does not recognise it as a dvd it says its a cd I have tried all the updates from the vaio website but with no success on solving my problem has anyone got any ideas of what I can do next. Any help would be grately appreciated.

have you checked through the list of possible solution in IF YOU HAVE DVD/CD DRIVE PROBLEMS

it only started to go wrong once I had done the vaio recovery, was a bit nervous about uninsatlling the driver but I will give it a go. I did the uninstall and the reinstall but to no avail anymore ideas. It only went wrong when I did the vaio recovery, I am really starting to hate my machine. Thank you
