    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi SimonMac-Vaio and welcome to Club Vaio.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I would make at least two sets of Recovery Discs and boot with the System Disc in the drive to check that it works by starting the Recovery Utility before destroying your backup Operating System.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can then remove the Recovery Partition knowing that your discs work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I personally would not remove this Partition until the space is really needed - because it offers a Recovery route if your DVD Drive becomes faulty.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.com.mk/html/@0248C33DDCF34AA61B8F8F33F5AFA5BE/images/smilies/013.png" alt=":wink:" title=":wink:" /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
