INSTALLSHIELD PROBS + OTHER SOFTWARE GONE BYE'BYE

Hellow from Belgium!

Bought myself an FZ19VN, running Vista Business.
Everything working well until a few days ago, when all of the sudden I get an error at startup:

Apparently Roxio Easy Media Creator tries to update, and the ISScript.msi is no longer working as it is supposed to. Current version of Installshield is outdated ... ??
Seems strange to me as no new version of this program had been released.

What are the consequenses? I can't use Roxio any longer, but also seem to have lost a bunch of other applications. Powerpoint viewer, Acrobat Reader ... all gone with the wind!

On top of this, I tried to use my sony vaio back-up / restore dvd's,
but the notebook isn't recognized as a Vaio-notebook !!
Same problem when I try to start Sony Vaio Update, Click 2 DVD or other Vaio-related programs. A format from the dvd's is therefore impossible!

In short: how do I solve this?
I need to get my notebook recognized as a Vaio.
And I can't seem to find a working website where I can fix the Installshield problems.

Hi Fantaflesdopke and welcome to Club Vaio.

This web page is a bit old but should offer a solution by downloading a recent version of ISScript.msi

You may be able to restore your Vaio to factory settings by tapping F10 when starting up - when you see the first VAIO screen. This should start the Recovery Wizard. This will delete everything you have added since you bought it - so back up any important data first.

The usual solution for this is to restore the BIOS defaults - tap F2 at boot when you see the Sony logo to enter the BIOS settings.
