EXTENDED WARRANTY

I purchased a FZ11Z notebook with an extended 2 year warranty from Micro Anvika. When i registered my vaio and it asked for extended warranty I typed my number in and it says warranty number does not exist. Does anyone know if I have to wait for the one year warranty to run out before I can do this?

Any help would be appreciated

Hi missimo187,

welcome to Club vaio..

Open the E-support portal, if you Do not have an e-Support account yet then click here to register, enter you registration name and password.

Once logged in select 'Manage the products you registered', then click on the + next to the model that you wish to add the extended warranty to and your serial number should appear underneath..

Click on the + next to the serial number, default should appear.

Click on the serial number again and a product details box and Add new warranty box should appear on the right, enter your warranty details into the Add new warranty box and complete the procedure.

Next time you log into E-support the warranty number you've just entered should appear under your Vaio's serial number just below the word default..

If that does not work then contact vaio-Link for further advice..

Thalamus, maybe you can clear something up for me about the insurance and warranty packages Sony sells.

I'm within the first year of my warranty, can I buy an extended warranty and/or insurance now, and add 1/2/3 years to the support on my machine, or can it only be extended at purchase time (or within a small window)?

I read something here once that made me question my obvious assumption (ie, that it's fine to add warranties/insurance within the initial 12 months of support)

Hi davemee

The One year Warranty Extension for VAIO (PCGE-VPW1) & Two year Warranty Extension for VAIO (PCGE-VPW2) require you to purchase and register within 1 year of your VAIO purchase date..

Depending on the Vaio model you've purchased there is also the VAIO 3 year On-Site Warranty (VGPE-VPPS) but you need to register this service pack on the Sony VAIO professional web site - within 30 days of purchasing your VAIO laptop.
