Host process for windows Services problem

Quite often happpens to my VAIO VGN FE49VN (Vista business) that I cannot open any programs, eventhough the system does not really "freeze". The message - Host process for windows services was shut down due to some unexpected problems - occured before every time, but I do not know how to eliminate it. Any suggestions? After restarting the computer, everything works normally until the message pops up again. Thanks for any help. Jana

Hi Jana,

I have not seen this problem but have you tried: -

1. A full Virus Scan - it is always worth checking as some of the older Viruses/Worms like MSBlaster gave this error message.
2. Run a System Restore to a time before you had the problem.
3. Start -> Run -> sfc /scannow to check your system files are OK.
