hi, is it possible to increase memory passed the 2gb limit for a vgn-n38e/w? if not then does it make any difference using 1 or 2 slots. thanks

The maximum RAM your Vaio can support is 2048MB..

Your N38E should currently have 2 x 512mb modules (1024 MB) of ram installed..

If you wish to upgrade than have a look at the compatible memory upgrades for your N38E at crucial.com , several members have bought extra RAM from crucial and another benefit from buying from Crucial is there memory compatibility guarantee.

Also you may find this guide, from Sony, on how to upgrade your Vaio's memory of interest..

thanks, however is there a way( changing the bios) to increase the RAM pass tge 2gb mark?
