Hi, i have recently gone to uni and i am starting to get bored. I want to bring my Playstaion 2 over to entertain my self but i have a massively bulky TV that would take up half the room, one of the reason i bought a VGN-AR21S was so i didn't need a TV. So i was wondering if there is any way to plug my Playstaion 2 in to my laptop. I don't mind buying a lead or 2. I tried the Playstation 1 connector to plug it in via the UHF coax but their was a lag between what i pressed and what a saw also the quality was well shoddy. I think it might because i was using the old cable or the fact the laptop wants to record. Is their a way to get rid of the lag or just plug it in, then it would be Guitar Hero all the way, or do i have to start studying?

Hi Andrew,

This is quite a common question. As far as I know, there is no satisfactory answer because the analogue inputs go through the TV Card, there is always an unacceptable delay caused by the latency in the system.

The best solution for quality that is available is to connect by S-Video but there is no software on your Vaio to view the input in full screen. So up to now, the answer has been "You can't do it".

Have a look at this recent post which seems to offer some sort of solution. I am not sure if loading another Analogue TV Opensource Package will work or if it will interfere with the Media Centre TV Setup - worth a try though!

http://club.vaio.sony.co.uk/clubvaio/GB/en/forum/viewthread?thread=46430&offset=0#224551

Let us know if it works - as I said, a lot of Club members would be interested in the outcome.
