Hi Kris and welcome to the forum.

Sony has disabled VT and AHCI by default on all VAIO models except the BZ series and as far as I am aware all Vaios using the Intel Montevina mobile platform (the FW is one such model) have VT and AHCI disabled due to compatibility issues.

I’m aware that there are modifications that can be made on Napa/Santa Rosa platform Phoenix BIOS models to enable VT and AHCI, but not your model.

Hi.

I'd consider myself a competent PC user, but I'm at the end of my wits here so im posting to see if anyone can help my problem.

Im trying to figure out whether my VGN-FW21L has AHCI enabled in the BIOS. Does anyone know? Itd show up as a setting in the BIOS if Sony hadn't gone and bloody stuck a 'childproof' BIOS in our laptops so that we cant access or alter any settings. I cant find any tests on the net to find out if its enabled or not.

Kris.
