I feel thoroughly ripped off by Sony. I have just purchased a very nice looking FW21M with recordable blu-ray. All excited I downloaded the DVD patch from the VAIO update process and settled down to watch my blu-ray "Australia" movie, only to find that my brand-new sony vaio isn't able to play the bue-ray disk.

Does anyone know how I can get round this - or should I just take the laptop back and get a refund?

Hope someone can offer some help or guidance. I feel as though I have just chucked £850 down the drain:-(

Apologies for my ignorance but what is this dvd patch?

And again apologies if I have misunderstood..."Australia" is a movie or is that where it's from?

What happens when you play it?
Is the Blu-ray region 2?

What software do you have to playback blu-ray?

More info needed!

Yep definitely more info needed if you want any help. I'm struggling with bluray too via WinDVD BD for VAIO
