topic SZ6 - New NVIDIA drivers? in PCs & Accessories

Hello to you all.

I have a SZ6, and since I have bough my Dock station, I have been having some problems with shutting down and hibernating my Vista ( http://club.vaio.sony.eu/clubvaio/gb/en/forum/viewthread?thread=65096 ). In the events logs I've found that one of the culprits is the NVIDIA Miniport display driver etc etc etc.

I'm aware that Nvidia has started to release drivers for the mobile cards, but, sadly, there is no support for Vaios.

My question is, if there are so many new versions, with updates to all the lines, how come I can't benefit from all the new optimizations that have been coded into those drivers? Right now I have 2years old drivers in my laptop, and problems associated with them.

This was my first Vaio, and I have to admit that it does makes me think if I'll ever have a second one. I feel like once I buy a Vaio I get stuck in time, and there won't be any kind of updates or optimizations for it, while similar latops with the same hardware keep getting them.

Is there at least some sort of beta drivers that I could try to see if they solve my problems? Or some community members into hacking these new Nvidia drivers?

Thanks in advanced,

P

Thanks, it didn't solve my problem, but my system seems to have a bit more free ram, which is always nice. Thanks.

i just wish I could have the dock working properly, I wander if someone ever tested after each SP...

Anyway, Thanks
