Microphone problem :S

Hi there,

I have bought vaio VGN-CR353 six months ago.. Yesterday saw that the microphone which is located next to the cam is open and i can't close it.. if I touch on it I can hear the microphone sound and this is very annoying..

Please help me.. !!!!!!

Hi Michael,

What do you mean by ‘open’? Are you saying that there is physical damage or that the microphone is transmitting sound to your speakers

I mean that if I touch the microphone I can hear the sound of it.. it's active without my permission

I haven’t encountered this problem before, but there are a couple of things that you could try.

1 Reduce the microphone volume and make sure that microphone boost is set at zero (Control Panel > Sounds > Recording tab > Microphone > Properties > Levels tab)

2 Make sure that the microphone is muted under playback (Control Panel > Sounds > Playback tab > Speaker/HP > Properties > Levels tab – make sure that Microphone icon is shown as muted (red circle with line through. Clicking the icon will toggle between mute and on) and that volume slider is at zero.
