Hey,

My hard drive said good night the other day, and with no warranty anymore, and in desperate need to get my computer up and running the "computer guy" at the office replaced the disk installed the corporate WinXP and the drivers available at the Sony webpages. This was okay in my head untill I realized no videocard driver. I found the a Nvidia driver for my Go5400 card at Nvidia, but the installation does not recognize any hardware that fits. Could anyone help me?

Thanks in advance,

Marijke

Hi Marijke and welcome.

The drivers supplied by Nvidia will not work with OEM systems without an .inf file modification.

I was under the impression that the VGN-C1Z uses the nVidia GeForce Go 7400, but you can download the original video drivers for your notebook from Vaio Link – click the Support tab at the top of this page.

The driver is part of a zip package and you may find more than one video driver folder. I think that yours is in the Video 2 folder, but check that the various file names start with nvxxx.
