Hi,

After installing Windows 7 yesterday I can't seem to get my camera to work anymore.

Is there anyway someone can post the driver please so I can get this up and running again?

I should also say that the microphone doesn't seem to work now either.

Just go to the support page of your laptop and download the drivers if they arnt the, just go to aonther model and download the camera driver..

I tried this. I presume its the "camera utility" that I need to download and install?

When I download this, I get an error message during installation.

ANyone else had this problem since they upgraded?

Morning Lee,

You need to check that the camera is properly installed. Go to Device Manager and look for 'Imaging Devices'. You should have a Vaio Comunications Camera installed. If not you will need to install the Camera Driver from your Originally Installed Drivers Pack.

You need to download and install the VAIO Camera Utility AND the VAIO Camera Capture Utility from here:

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/updates/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-FZ18M

The VAIO Camera Utility needs to run as part of your startup group.

Managed to get this to work.

I had created a recovery disk, so I opened up the disk, found the Drivers/camera folder and installed the exe. Voila, it now recognises the correct camera rather than "usb video device"

I've got the same problem. I've got a AR51J. I've been on the drivers page and installed the Camera Capture Utility, but there's no VAIO Camera Utility download listed.

Any ideas?

Hi googles 0987.

You are right - the Camera utility is not listed. Does the camera work without it?

If not perhaps someone with an AR51 Vaio could look into the installed utilities in C:\Program Files\Sony and see if a Vaio Camera Utility is installed.

If it is installed but not in the download you may have to use the Vaio camera utility in the Original Utilities Package for the AR41-Series.

Never mind I sorted it.

For the AR51 there is no Camera Utility. There's a driver instead. Driver is now installed and it's working fine.
