tv out problems

hi all now i have my pc up and running properly again i was wanting to link it to my tv i have the tv out and this conection

but when i conect it to my tv with the yellow cable to the yellow socket on my tv and select that output on my tv i dont get any signal to it am i doing it right or do i need a diffrent cable to conect to my tv the tv video output cable is the one i got when i bought my pc do i need to set up the pc to use this output

ps does it need to be a yallow cable or will a red or white one do the same if conected to the lead i got with my pc

Maybe you should be connecting to a scart socket using a converter?

i will give that a try as i have the scart conector with the 3 outputs for that do i need to use a yellow cable or will the red ones ect do the same you know the red and white sound ones ?
also i take it the sound is thrue my pc as there is only a yellow conector on the cable i got with the pc ????dose it have to be the yellow video cable this is my main thing cause i used the red sound cable i had and i dont know if they are the same it should be the same 2 wires in them but not to sure

The yellow one carries video
the white one carries the left channel of audio
the red one carries the right channel of audio

So you will need all of them for it to work.
Normally people use the line out for the audio.

the little cable show in link above is the cable i got for the tv out it only has the one yellow output so no where for others to go ?

The red and white ones you'll need a stereo jack (3.5mm) to auxilary pair, which goes into the scart converter.

u mean for the sound i will need the headphone typ socket and plug that into the headphone socket and the other end has the red and white conections on i have one of those but i would loss the sound thrue my pc speakers it is just realy the pic i need thrue the tv are the yellow and red cables difrent as i thought they would be the same wires inside the cables ?

Hi again i just tryd the adapter for the 3 cables to the scart socket using a yellow cable and still nothing to the tv ?
is it only sertan programs ie watching dvd's ect that will send a picture to the tv or should it display the desktop ect aswell ?
or am i just doing this all wrong as there is only one conect i got with my pc for the tv out and it only has one output (yellow) to conect to the tv i have tryd now with the scart adapter and direct into the yellow input on my tv with the proper yellow conector do i need to activate something on my pc to use the tv out ?
realy confused now about this tv out thing
and yes the tv sockets work as i use them for my camcorder ect
any ideas ?

yes done that 🙂 and maked sure it was with my camcorder so not that how do you set the TV as the primary display?

You should only need to connect the yellow video-out on the PC to the video-in socket on the TV if you don't need sound through the TV. The instructions on how to activate the video output should be in the manual.

What model is your PC? The instructions for activating the video output vary from model to model and some PCs only have a video input (Like the PCV-V1).

Hi the model is PCV-RX402
i tryd to download a manual thinking it would be clear to do but this site dosent list a manual for my pc i know it used to have one not to sure how to set it up i was raking on my pc and found things to set up on my graphics card to do with output but a bit scared if i set it wrong i will loss the screen then how would i get a pic to set it up again ?????

i take it that is the link for the user manual for my pc i have been waiting for 10 mins now for it to open 😞 i still have dial up for a couple of days till my broadband is set up i will waite and try again when it is set up it seams to be taking ages to download

do you ever sleep you are on as much if not more than me keep up the good work m8 thanks i just hope the manual if that is what it is on the link will explain things to me as it is doing my head in now lol i dont even know what i will use it for on the tv yet just thought it would be a nice touch seaing as i should be able to use it might come in handy while i have my sony camcorder linked to my pc or things like that of dvd's ect (have a dvd player on the tv already ) i am sure i will find a use for it when set up 🙂
