hi,

following my system freezing and crashing 16 times my 324 was sent back to sony who after 6 weeks have said that the dvd rom and dvd writer have been causing the problem and will be replaced.

can any one explain to me how this is i can not understand after 12 months both drives can fail.

It can be for many reasons, like dirty DVDs (oily marks etc) but mainly because things die, like we do.

6 weeks to repair a desktop PC - that's not good . . . I can build one in 15 minutes!

6 weeks and computer not back. it took sony 4 weeks to figure out what was causing problems and still waiting for unit to be sent back. but at least the store gave me a loan machine.:smileytongue:
