I have just bought a VPCEJ2B1E. Does it have an inbuilt fax modem? Will it accept an external fax modem? If so what sort?

Hi Tony and welcome.

Very few new laptops have an inbuilt Fax Modem these days - it has become old technology very quickly.

However, I understand that some businesses require Fax - luckily you can get inexpensive external Windows 7 compatible modems these days - have a look at these external USB Fax Modems: -

I keep an old XP desktop for such emergencies and also have the Samsung CLX3175FW Colour Laser Printer which is networked and can Scan/Copy/Print/Fax. On most occasions I tend to use a Scanner/email combination to send documents etc.
