I have a VPC-CA3C5E which I maxed out spec wise and as such am horrified to find it cant cope with 5ghz wireless.

Due to network traffic in my area I had to upgrade my entire wireless sytem.

The card in the VPC-CA3C5E is a AR9485WB-EG.

When I contacted Sony they have me a whole list of instructions to follow to get it to work in 5ghz

After wasting a day or two I got back to them and they said by the way it doesnt even have 5ghz.

So I am not very happy and this is being looked into by Sony.

What I would like to know is

1: How easy is it to swap out the WLAN card on the VPC-CA3C5E? Is it is simple as changing the memory or will I need to completely dismantle the laptop. If it is the latter then it is a no go as I do not want to void the warrantee.

2) Does anyone know if the VPC-CA3C5E has two ot 3 ariels?

3) Assuming I can do this what is the best wlan card can put back in there.

thanks in advance.
