Looking for help to locate motherbaord

Hi guys and girls.

I have a Sony Vaio VPCEB3Z1E/BQ - I am looking to locate which motherboard I have.

I want to change my CPU and GFX as I want to make it more "gaming alike". I am currently looking at putting in a I7 2.9ghz.

Finally - A big thanks for making such great computers in general. Had mine for about 1½ year now, and i never been so happy for my computer!

The motherboards used by Sony are a custom design and the GFX chip is pre-soldered to the motherboard so can not be economically changed.

Hi PTrillingsgaard,

I think the motherboard part number for this model is 1P-009CJ01-8011

Changing the CPU may be possible but the GPU is soldered to the motherboard and therefore not a practical/economic consideration.

If you want a gaming machine then consider a desktop where hardware uograding is a more simple procedure.
