OK, so i accidentally "safely removed" my DW-U50a DVD drive and now i have no idea how to get it back. When i reboot there is no flashing light or anything. I've checked device manager and there's no CD/DVD drive listed, i've tried detect hardware and it doesn't find anything! i'm completely at my wits end with this. I have a PCG-GRT 716S with Windows XP Pro installed and SP-2. I've never had a problem with it before.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
David

David,

I've done similar. What I had to do was switch off properly, wait a few mins, then switch on again. Everything was back to normal.

I feel I must continue the stupid accidents thread here, since my post new thread button is once again not working. I have managed to get one of my laptop keys off the keyboard by accident, and it's a real pain to get back on. Does anyone have an easy way of doing it?
