x505 malfunctioning pointing device!!!! please help!!!!!!!plz!!!!!!

Just bought s brand new vaio x505, wah.....so sexy!!!!
however, after i switched it on, the pointing anchor keeps going upper right corner, and sometimes keeps going to lower left corner. It drove me mad!
I also realised that the movement of the anchor changes speed when i move the screen.
I personally believe that is a hardware fault,since i tried to disable the pointing device and use a external usb mice, no problem at all..... however, it is rediculous to bring a fat nice around with such a sexy slim x505, isnt it??

Anybody else have the same or similar problem?? please help!!! Thanks a lot!!

When the pointer moves, are you touching the pad at all?

Of course not touching it at all! and the laptop is placed on my study table...
Plus, the anchor moves faster sometimes, and also slower sometimes.......
any idea?:smileysad:

Sorry, we have to check all posibilities.
Sounds like there's a wire loose in the touchpad.
As it's in warranty I'd get Sony to fix it.

nah it wont take long, theyre pretty efficient with their pickup and return service from what ive heard,
just not to efficient with the actual fixing bit

Thanks for your comments - I don't work for Sony, I just like the VAIO. It's so much more mature than Packard Bell and co.
