Hi All:smileygrin: .

Some of you may remember a thread about my little problem where I randomly lost my internet connection whereby I had to close down IE6 and reopen it or even reboot my TR5.

It was not the wireless network as others could still surf.

My wireless signal strength was also permanently "excellent".

Well it would seem (according to Intel) that the integrated Intel 2200BG wireless bits can have problems renegotiating connections with access points after any "power saving". Intel suggest keeping it on "CAM" (continually aware mode - advanced options/power saving)

Tried this and it was no better:smileycry:

I finally downloaded Intel's own driver despite their warnings to use the laptop manyfacturer's driver and the problem has gone:smileygrin:

I have now been surfing continuously for 9 hours without a problem.

I am sure I never had the problem pre SP2

My Sony Wireless driver did much the same until I downloaded it from the manufacturers site. Now it's fine.
Does anyone have an SP2 problem where when the wireless reconnects from a dropped connection it keeps the disconnected icon?

PS Welcome back William I knew you'd miss me too much. LOL.
