Non functioning USB ports on a PCG-GRT996VP notebook

Hi, I have the model above and although it has 3 USB connectors at the back only the middle one seems to work reliably and every time I time to connect more than one device (e.g mouse and PDA) I can only get one of them to work. Is this a known issue with VIAOs or should I be returning it to have the problem addressed?

I think it ought to be looked at by Sony. If it is less than one year old your warranty will cover repairs, if it is older, it is a chargeable repair.

Best thing to do is to ring Sony (press Windows+FN+Pause/Insert, and click the SUPPORT button. The phone number is listed there). Ring between 8am to 6pm to guarantee some sort of a response. They will advise you professionally on what is wrong, and can arrange with you to get your system picked up.

:smileygrin: Thanks for the advice. I rang the viao-link line and they told me to reset the BIOS settings and hey presto! all working again. (I didn't even believe it would work as I had never changed anything in there but apparently some programs can affect these settings) So I am up and working fine again.
